I did a lot of research before I bought this car seat - safety is most important. I'm VERY VERY satisfied with this car seat. I don't know how well some of those more expensive($300+) ones works, but this particular ones is very well made for a lot less money. The construct is solid and reasonably heavy, doesn't feel flimsy like a cheaper($60) one I also have.
The car seat is very adjustable, degree of recline etc. to make child comfortable sitting in it. The weight is a bit heavier than the cheaper ones, but once installed, one wouldn't be moving it very often anyway. The seat is well padded, so it's comfortable. The installation is easy, i used it with seat anchor, hook into the anchor, pull the tab on the belt, and it's done! Wife really liked the this one, we ended up bought total 3 of these to install in various cars.

I bought this carseat thinking it was a great deal...It is not all that great. Alpha Omega (beginning to End Yeah no) I would not feel safe putting a new born in it EVER. It does not work in all cars rear facing. Especially small compact cars, or pick up trucks. The padding is thin. The owners manual shows that to properly install this seat rear facing it should be at over a 30 degree angle. It is hard to adjust. Removing the cover to wash is nearly impossible. I have not used this seat front facing yet and probably won't I have made this my spare seat that my husband uses to pick up our daughter from the sitter and have bought a MY RIDE 65 for our primary seat, and I will be buying another My Ride 65 to replace this seat also.

I bought this as a second car seat for my husbands car- and was extremely pleased upon opening the box. The first seat we have is another brand and, while it is fantastic now that it is installed, it was NOT user friendly straight out of the box- (which is why I chose another model/brand for the second seat)- THIS seat seems well made, is very nice to look at and was incredibly easy to "set up" for my sons height etc- I routed the LATCH system for rear facing and took it out to the car- AND THAT IS WHERE THE "GOOD" ENDED... There is a "line" on the 'shoulder strap guide' on top that indicated that it must be 'parallel to the ground' for the rear facing positioning to be correct... To make that happen, we had to literally push the seat in front of the car seat up to the dash board AND bend it forward beyond where any person could sit in it- There was a HUGE gap - now they tell you that you can use a pool noodle or rolled up towels to get the recline angel correct- but you would need about 6 of them- So, I tried it in my husbands car- same thing- only worse, he has 'bucket seats' and it left an even larger gap to fill- and the seat still had to be moved all the way forward. I requested a refund/return number since the seat wont work, and they said they would refund 90% of the purchase price AND I have to pay the return shipping- which, even with the slowest method was $47! So, i'm losing close to $60 total if I return this, and if I dont, I have to hold onto it until my son is two- the new recommended age to turn a child forward facing... its a lose, lose. My best bet is to try to sell it for the purchase price myself- (to someone with a large SUV or truck)
BOTTOM LINE- If you own a car- DONT BUY THIS SEAT- however, if you have a rather large vehicle, it is a very nice seat...
(there are reviews online -that I saw AFTER buying this seat- stating you can remove the base in the rear facing position... BUT that must be for older models- This years model is made so the base doesn't come off- and the instruction manuel even states NOT to remove is)
